슬픈 날

It wasn't a good day today... Got to know of a close colleague who got promoted to a manager. She's only with the company for few years. I should be happy for her and I am! I was the one who gave her a push to apply for this position anyway.... At the same time, I felt a bit lost. I don't wish to compare and set any expectations for myself but nonetheless, it's so unavoidable!

###

Today is the last day of work for the hawkers who are selling at the Golden Bridge along Shenton Way. These hawkers have been working on the bridge for the longest time! The government is now taking back the ownership of this bridge and most likely, it will be refurbished into something else.

Long queue during lunch time as it's the last time people at Shenton Way get to enjoy the nice char siew & chicken rice!

Does good things really last for people who wait? I doubt...

굿바이 홍콩!

I'm now at T1 Hong Kong Airport and in 40 minutes, I will be flying home... Time passes extremely fast when you are on holiday, isn't it? 4 days in Hong Kong and it's gone in a blink!

This short holiday was planned rather last minute. I had decided to claim my miles for a complimentary ticket, arranged my accommodation with a local friend, re-scheduled my classes, and off I went!

It's a good and relaxing trip! My close colleague was also in Hong Kong and we met for shopping and dinner! Hong Kong colleague also brought me to Stanley street, which was away from the city area. My friend also brought me to the yatcht club but too bad the weather wasn't doing good and I missed the chance of going out to sea!

Perhaps it's true that I really do work too hard. Such occasional holidays are precious gifts and hopefully, this will be my last year slogging hard and having so many students and classes... I want to enjoy life too!

요즈음...

I dreamt of him last night... the dream was so vivid...
He came back, asking for patch back. My silly subconscious mind, why on earth would I dream such a dream when I know it's never going to happen?

###

This week is a terrible busy week... everyday is packed with classes as I have shifted my weekend classes to weekday evenings. All these for a good cause! Since I have to clear a few days before end March, I decided to take a short holiday to.... Hong Kong!

I'm very much looking forward to the trip! ^^

아테나: 전쟁의 여신

I'm now watching 아테나: 전쟁의 여신 Athena: Goddess of War, after a disappointing finish of My Princess 마이 프린세스. My Princess was off to a good start, but the storyline was weak at the end which was quite a pity, considering the lead couple 송승헌 and 김태희 are very compatible.

If only Kim Hyun Joong had accepted the role in Athena (it was reported that he had been offered a role in this drama), it would have make this Iris spin-off drama more exciting!

기념...

It's been exactly a year since you left him... I still remember vividly that he was very much affected by your passing away.

Keeping you in my prayers tonight... and please continue to keep him safe!

상하이의 사진!

Here are some pictures which I have taken during my Shanghai trip...

Name calligraphy as a promotion mechanic for my exhibition stand... this attracted huge crowds... everyone wanted their names to be painted!

Qi Bao Water Town, not very far from the city center and very accessible by the subway. But... this tourist attraction is filled with people!

현빈의 입대!

It's a week since Hyun Bin got enlisted with the Marines. I was in Shanghai last week so didn't have a chance to blog this.

I guess this was the last interview he had before getting enlisted...

In the midst of enjoying his highest popularity, Hyun Bin has to join the military.... On joining the Marines, Hyun Bin said, “I do not feel sorry about joining the military, but I feel so bad that I have to stop acting.”

He continued, “Honestly, I do not feel sorry about joining the marines at this moment when I have been enjoying my great popularity, but I feel sorry for one thing -- that I have to join the military at the moment when I began to have exciting feelings about acting. I came to have the feeling that I might be able to take out something from inside of me for acting, but I have to stop acting at this moment, so I feel sad.”

He said that he wanted to focus on himself for two years in the marines. “In my twenties, I spent most of time analyzing the works and characters that I had to play, but I want to concentrate on only myself for the next two years and I want to find my own world, the world of the human being named Kim Tae Pyung, his real name."

Asked about the reason why he had chosen the Marine Corps, he answered, “When I was young, I wanted to enter the police academy and wanted to joing the special unit fighting terrorism. I just thought that if I had to fulfill my military duty as a man in Korea, I wanted to do something similar to what I had wanted, so I had chosen the Marine Corps. I just chose it because the time to decide had come.”

Does he feel pressure or any fear about the military or feel his future is dim? He answered, “I feel no anxiety. I just hope that I can find something new about myself in the military. And I want to become more mature and a strong person in the marines. It will be a precious time for me, and at the same time, it will be the most important time for me. I want to use this time very well for myself.”

즐거운 나의 집!

It's good to be home after spending a week in cold Shanghai! Alot of mishaps in the beginning but I'm glad it all ended well!

I was supposed to travel Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou with a friend but due to unforseen circumstances, travel plans got stalled. So I had to change my plans last minute... Spent some time walking in Shanghai... At least I know Shanghai is not just mega malls! Will save the 2 cities for my next Shanghai trip then...

My shipment for my conference was impounded by the local customs and I was not able to retrieve them by Monday, the day I needed to setup for my Tuesday conference. The local broker which my company had engaged was giving me crap excuses and he had refused to cooperate... DHL was providing bad service too! No one was willing to take responsibilities! The conference is a major show for my company as many competitors are sponsors.... I can't possibly do without an exhibition booth stand! So I called my vendor and thankfully she made a new stand over the weekend and my Sales Director was willing to bring it up on the plane as he's a PPS member... Now I'm a bit worried to receive my mobile phone bill for this month...

During my trip, I befriended someone and we had a 1.5h heart to heart sharing session. A deep conversation... it's really interesting to know one's thoughts, especially if it's coming from a guy. Hopefully we can still meet when I'm in town!

Anyway I had taken many pictures! Will upload them once I'm done with editing them. Patience!

좋은 출발을 보였다!

The thing with him, which had never been settled and had been causing much distress to my life has finally seen a good start today! Actually I was doubtful but I'm glad he adhered to his words. Though it's still a long journey but at least I feel less stressed now.

Thanks Li Ching for your email drafts and advice! Really... from the bottom of my heart!
