More tuitions!

Within a few days this week, I have accepted 3 new students. "Urgent cases," my agent persuaded me to take up the assignments. After hearing things like previous tutor was hospitalised so couldn't teach; student missed school for 2 months because of illness so she's finding hard to catch up; previous tutor did a bad job of teaching and he's still not improving...

So total count now is 10 students... I teach every weekday evening; sometimes up to 2 per evening after my normal working hours. Plus weekends!! Breathless but yet fulfilling... something that is lacking in my current job now.

I chatted online with 이쿠미씨 my Korean friend and she was trying to introduce her husband's friend to me...

Well I guess looks are secondary; what matters is a true heart. Anyhow, 이쿠미 husband's friend (2nd from left) has a Korean star look... don't you think so?

A few of my colleagues held a mini celebration for another colleague today as it's her birthday! Cakes from The Patissier... Aren't they just gorgeous? They taste as heavenly as they look!

Chrysanthemum

I received this bouquet of chrysanthemum from a cross-cultural director this morning. She just wanted to thank me for making Wednesday showcase a success. I guess she didn't know that this flower is associated with the dead and has popularity at funerals, or to the bereaved in time of need. I was in a dilemma... I couldn't throw the flowers away because she walk by my work station, so I have to place them at a corner of my desk, praying that other colleagues would not notice them.

I just found out... Chrysanthemum indoors meant a wishful death.
OMG! Please flowers... please wither fast!!!!!

This weekend is hardly for myself. I had to rush to attend my uni friend, Yanping's wedding lunch today, amidst all my tuitions... Tuition, wedding lunch and tuition again!

댄스 개더링

My dance friends and I visited our ballet teacher today. We usually visit her during Teacher's Day week every year. It used to be just me and another friend but now our group has grown to 5!

It's always good to catch up with friends whom you seldom meet... and guess who did we get to meet today? Someone whom I have not seen since I stopped dancing which is like over 10 years?! It was the same for everyone else too... but Celine still looked the same! Not a change! And she's the only one who perservered and is still dancing and teaching today! It's always good to have supportive parents who stand by your dream and passion.

Till we meet again! Perhaps during CNY week next year ya?

What's your Problem?

Nothing beats coming home and getting a warm hug from my 2-year old niece. After a day at work and tuition after work... I wouldn't want to hear sarcasm from my mother, just because my niece had drawn the sofa using the nice crayon pens I had bought yesterday. If we have to find fault, then why wasn't anyone keeping a close watch on niece Adrienne when she was drawing?

When a problem has occured, work around the obstacle and solve it!

해피 티처 데이

It's Teacher's Day today... and I have lost count of the number of students I have tuitioned to-date... It's been over 10 years since i started tutoring; time really flies! I guess the most rewarding part of being a tutor is to see my students improve and grow to become aspiring young adults.

As it's the exam season now and with 6 students including 3 who are having their 'O's, I'm giving extra classes during weekday evenings after work as well as on weekends!! Tired and tired!
