Leading by Example?!

Singapore's state investor Temasek Holdings said on Friday it would cut pay across the board in a bid to slash costs as the firm projects tough economic conditions in 2009 and beyond.

Temasek, headed by Ho Ching, the wife of Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, said senior managers had volunteered to take a pay cut of between 15 and 25 percent.

"We anticipate a global recession in 2009 and possibly beyond. Therefore, Temasek will institute a firm-wide wage cut," said Robert Chong, managing director of human resources at Temasek.

Chong also said the current crisis "will throw up tremendous opportunities" and that the majority of wage savings will be borne by their key managers. Temasek said it aimed to increase headcount by 15 percent over the next two years.

Temasek owns stakes in global banks such as Standard Chartered, Barclays, Merrill Lynch, Bank of China and India's ICICI Bank , the stocks of which have all fallen as the credit crisis unfolded, some of them very sharply.

Final government data released on Friday confirmed that Singapore was in recession. The city-state's economy shrank at a worse-than-expected rate of 6.8 percent on an annualised and seasonally adjusted basis in the third quarter, and the government said the economy may shrink next year.

The civil servants should also lead by example too... but then again, what's 15-25 percent of peanuts? Still peanuts!

I don't shift alone! I move with thousands of marketing brochures, banner and exhibition stands, corporate gifts, table overlay the list goes on.....
Damn!

Latest Update: I'm SAFE for now... Woohoo!!!

코리안 팝 나이트 2008

Just got back from the Korean Pop Night 2008 concert which showcased 9 Korean artistes/groups including Jun Jin and Andy from Shinhwa and Wonder Girls. This inaugural large-scale concert was the highlight of the 2008 Korean Festival which was held from 1-18 November in Singapore.

Hosts for the night: Park Jung Ah, Andy and 933 DJ Li Yi . I just adore Park Jung Ah's pink dress and her tan!

Chae Yeon impressed the audience or rather just me with her natural sexy thighs... Oh and her vocals of course...

Energy level rose when Jewelry performed sizzling numbers, 'One More Time' and 'Superstar'. Park Jung Ah (left) is also the leader of the group.

Fans were screaming incredibly for 2 PM when they started performing. I must be getting old because I felt they were just a bunch of pretty faces. Period.

U Kiss - another boyband group with flowery faces. Are they really so popular in Korea??

Finally, Wonder Girls ended the whole concert with their fast numbers, 'Nobody' and 'Tell Me'

I did enjoy myself during this concert. I'm grateful for the chance to watch this concert for free! Heard tickets were sold at $200 over the internet. ~Thanks Carol! Hope this Korean Festival will be a yearly affair!

Lee Hom Music-Man World Tour Singapore 2008

LeeHom Music Man 2008 concert was a much better one than the one in 2006. Perhaps because this time, my seat is much nearer to the stage and there wasn't any crazy fans standing up holding huge boards which covered my view...

Through the concert, I discovered some nice songs which I have never heard: 《安全感》、《爱错》Too bad he didn't sing his latest ballad, Everything which will be found in his new album... I still like him on his violin... SUAVE!
