다크 나이트 라이즈

Just attended the movie premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises'... My first time watching a mega blockbuster on the very first day it's released in Singapore for free! Another first!

Glad the movie didn't disappoint!

몇 살이죠?

Mid-noon, my big boss walked past my desk and asked me if I was going for lunch. I told him I'm going to meet my ex-student for lunch and I was jokingly telling him I feel old now. And suddenly his face turned serious and he popped the question...

Big boss: "Actually how old are you?"
Me: "I'm xx this year."
Big boss: "Oh... you don't look your age."
Me: "So you mean I look older?"
Big boss: "No you look like you are 23!"
Me (trying hard not to roll my eyes): "Coffee on me then!"

Hmmm.... seems like my big boss has been longing and curious to know my age!

It's lovely to know my efforts have been recognized. The award entry which I had submitted early this year won us a Leading HR Practices award! It's the second award we have won this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed... hopefully 3 more will be coming our way soon!


Commendation email from big boss received this morning!

기대기대....

Financial savings back at square 1 today. Withdrew what I had saved for the past year to help my brother repay his medical study loan. At least I'm helping my family rather than a stranger. And it's good training... you can't take anything with you when you die.

I'm grateful for the assignments which came my way. I believe the Lord sends them to help rebuild my savings towards year end. 14 is a crazy number and I'm very much looking forward to end October when I  can finally take a good long break from classes. Hopefully by then, I can afford a good holiday too.

Fifty Shades Trilogy

I recently bought an ebook 'Fifty Shades Trilogy' and have been reading it on my phone. It's the bestseller in worldwide bookstores and has recently hit the stores in Singapore.

It's such a fantasy read, the male character being a rich hot businessman who earns $100,000 per hour?! No such thing as love but only sexual contracts until he met the love of his life. It's not a dark book as it's deemed to be. Quite tame bondage-inflected love novel.

And... they are making a movie out of it. Hmmmmm... wonder who will be the male lead?

I'm debt free!
My outstanding loans which were incurred because of him are finally ALL repaid. Woohoo!!!!
I have been waiting for this day for 2 years.
It's a great relief.
